Symbol Of His Love (13 - Tree Challenge - Feb 15)
2015-02-15 @ 09:00amtags: mediaevalish christian folk tree
Second attempt at the Flowering Dogwood for @donna's tree challenge. Not quite sure of the structure, but as it's sacred music the repetitive sections could work well.
Lyrics
Sacrifice and passionHardworking and true
This is what he showed to me
What I return to you
Practical - yet beautiful
When I bloom at Easter
Blanketing the valleys
In the symbol of his love
Each of my flowers
Shows the sign of the cross
The nails in his hands and feet
The crown of thorns
Each of my flowers
Tells of the resurrection
Suffering, eternal redemption
Purpose to be borne
Joyful in hardship
Simplicity or strife
A miracle in every hue
Creator gave us life
Practical - yet beautiful
When I bloom at Easter
Blanketing the valleys
In the symbol of his love
Each of my flowers
Shows the sign of the cross
The nails in his hands and feet
The crown of thorns
Each of my flowers
Tells of the resurrection
Suffering, eternal redemption
Purpose to be borne
From my wood
You could make a dagger
Bring pain or protection
From my wood
You could carve a winepress
Bring joy to every party
Practical - yet beautiful
When I bloom at Easter
Blanketing the valleys
In the symbol of his love
Each of my flowers
Shows the sign of the cross
The nails in his hands and feet
The crown of thorns
Each of my flowers
Tells of the resurrection
Suffering, eternal redemption
Purpose to be borne
Practical - yet beautiful
When I bloom at Easter
Blanketing the valleys
In the symbol of his love
